I will be blogging about these topics over the coming months to do our bit for the environment. I encourage and welcome others to join me in spreading the word.

Duty of Care for Kent and East Sussex

Everyone must play their part. This is a pretty broad topic, I know.

But if we don't pull together to responsibly manage our homes and protect our local environments, the next generation might miss out on the beautiful landscapes, creatures, and places we have enjoyed in our lifetimes. And that's just wrong.

We simply can't afford to keep wasting valuable resources.

This affects all of us

Food waste -

Food waste is unacceptably high in the UK. Why do we throw away so much perfectly good food? Not only is it insanely wasteful. It also contributes to climate change and environmental degradation.

We will look at simple ways to cut household waste including food, save you money and help reduce the amounts still going into landfills annually.

A responsibility to recycle, reuse and reinvent -

Less waste to landfill, less pollution from manufacturing unnecessary replacements, and greater self-pride and satisfaction from creating your own home style through reinvention. Nice.

Local stewardship -

Help to clean up neglected local patches. Become that person that stops and then picks up the litter (others do notice and will follow your lead). And report environmental crime to the police and local authorities whenever you witness it.

Fly tippers are a scourge on our society but can only be stopped by many eyes (and phone cameras) on the ground and keeping watch. Ready to film and then report them.

Lets work together and wipe them out.

Looking out for your wild neighbours -

Bee hotels, bird baths in hot, dry weather, hedgehog highways and a wild and undisturbed corner of the garden for the wildlife that needs some peace and quiet. All good, inexpensive ways to make a small difference.

Small maybe, but multiplied by thousands of households, it becomes a pretty big change for the better.

I love the area I live and work in. All of us at FFC are committed to making it cleaner and healthier for people while preserving it's wildlife heritage and helping to restore its historic beauty.

Thanks for reading.
