Important information

The International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified all forms of asbestos as being carcinogenic to humans. Asbestos causes mesothelioma (type of cancer that forms on the protective tissue that covers the lungs or the abdomen) and cancer of the lung, larynx (voice box) and ovary.

Being a popular building material since the 1950s, asbestos was widely used in homes and commercial buildings. It was finally banned in the UK in 1999. As a result, buildings built or refurbished prior to 2000 stand a high chance of containing asbestos. A comprehensive list can be found at the bottom of this page.

The Asbestos is removed, transported and finally disposed of strictly in accordance with HSE and hazardous waste regulations. First for Clearance meets all legal requirements for Asbestos removal.
